and provide improved wear resistance. ArmorGlide® is a permanent coating that remains bonded to the base material for the life of the piston.
It is a hihg-tech lubricant that reduces friction, which increased horsepower.
ArmorGlide® also allows the piston to be fitted tighter within the bore than a non-coated piston.
The benefit of reducing piston to wall clearance is better ring seal and reduced noise from piston rock.
ArmorGlide® actually compensates for uneven thermal growth of a piston bore, creating the perfect piston skirt profile for maximum power and bore sealing.
The ArmorGlide® coating thickness is extremely uniform, and is applied precisely where needed, so there is no over-spray into functional areas of the piston.
Electra-Coating
Wiseco´s Electra-coated process is applied to domes, ring grooves, and pin bores.
The ultrahard coating offers superior wear resistance, and greatly extends the life of ring grooves and pin bores.
It also eliminates micro-welding of the piston rings to the grooves, and prevents galling in the pin bore.
Elektra-coated domes offer protection against erosion from detonation and help reflect heat into the combustion chamber, keeping the piston cooler.
