The black silicone excels in sealing areas that experience permanent oil contact, such as oil pans, housing covers, and timing chain covers. It is also ideal for applications in engines, transmissions, control housing covers, gearbox housings, valve covers, and water pumps.

With excellent oil and glycol resistance, LOCTITE® 5980 ensures a durable seal. It is suitable for both metal and plastic flanges and can effectively seal even small damages. This sealant replaces traditional paper and cork seals, offering strong adhesion and permanent elasticity while bonding to various materials, such as metals, coatings (including cathodic dip painting), and plastics.

Specially designed to be long-term resistant, this silicone sealant does not cause corrosion to vehicle components. Its flexibility and extreme resistance to external stress make it an essential for any workshop. Additionally, LOCTITE® 5980 promotes good occupational safety, being free from ingredients suspected to be hazardous to health (R40-free).
