The BGM PRO pole wheel is a perfect replica of the original PX200 pole wheel. With its large curved blades, it has a high fan performance, ideal for large cast iron cylinders such as the Polini 210.

At 1.9 kilograms, the BGM PRO Touring pole wheel is a full 1000 grams lighter than its original Piaggio counterpart. This makes it very agile to ride when accelerating, but the engine retains its superior elasticity.

It can be used as a 1:1 replacement for the original Piaggio PX200 pole wheel. Of course, it can also be used on engines with smaller displacements (80-190cc).

WEIGHT
At 1900 grams, the BGM8225RT (T for Touring) is 1000 grams lighter than the original pole wheel of the PX models. It offers the ideal combination of sufficient flywheel mass for a powerful starting torque and a lighter weight for a lively revving of the engine and better acceleration. Compared to the very heavy pole wheels of the older PX models (without Elestart), it offers a 35% lower flywheel mass.

POWER & COOLING
The cooling vanes are curved and have the largest surface area of all pole wheels for the PX engines. Piaggio introduced this blade profile for the first time on the legendary SS180 engines. This guarantees high fan performance at all times, even at low engine speeds. The high cooling capacity is ideal for thermally rather critical engines, such as a Polini 207 cast iron with SI24 carburetor that is to be moved at full throttle on the freeway or has to cope with a lot of load in sidecar operation.

ELESTART
The pole wheel does not have a ring gear for the electric starter. It can be installed and driven on all models (including electric starters), but the electric start function is then no longer available. For vehicles with electric start, we recommend our BGM8025RTE.

RECOMMENDATION
We recommend the BGM8225RT for all engines subject to high thermal loads or as a perfect replacement for the original Piaggio pole wheel, which is no longer available. The less basic power the engine has (PX80/PX125), the heavier the flywheel weight should be. Very light pole wheels (under 1600 grams) usually offer no advantages here.

NOTE
Very old PX200 engines (built up to 1982) often still have the first pole wheel generation (recognizable by the longitudinal oval inspection hole closed with a rubber, OE number: 167052). Here, the labyrinth seal on the rear of the profile was designed slightly differently to the later engines. In order to be able to fit the BGM pole wheel, which corresponds to the original Piaggio design of the pole wheel generation from 1982 onwards (OE number: 167102, vehicles with indicators), the height of two small aluminum bars on the engine housing must be reduced.
